I have been browsing in this site www.flatironexperts.com for however long now but I really never got around ordering anything from their site since I have been tight with money for a few months now – a lot of things going on and to me, there’s far more important things to buy than a curling iron until couple weeks ago. So yeah, I gave in. I ordered online and finally purchased the Babyliss Pro Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron 1-1/2″. Made a few bucks and made my purchase. Actually, there’s more to that than just buying the product just ’cause. I already had the said Babyliss curling iron and had to return it to dannyco (the warranty provider for Babyliss). The curling iron I had was defective, it was an inch and a quarter barrel. Anyway, So yeah, dannyco’s customer service was horrible, at first the warranty lady was “trying” to be helpful – and yes, just “trying” but not really if that makes any sense. I sent her several emails, called her a few times, when I actually talked to her, she said that she couldn’t get back to me right away because she thinks that its odd that I got a defective curling iron! Like really?! Am I just really bored and I have no life so to get the thrill I called her a few times and sent her an email and made up this story that my curling iron is defective? Honestly. So after she listened to me, she said that she will send me a mailing label so I can send the iron back and they will send me a replacement. So I waited… And waited… And waited! Like really, almost 2 weeks of waiting for a mail label that will be sent via email. I was thinking, she’s probably really busy to not get around sending me a label.
I made a follow up on email – no answer. I called their company and made a follow up – got the lady’s voicemail twice! Like, really? Is she the ONLY ONE working at that department? And the name of that department is customer service. Ha! I don’t know what to say. So I called again after a few days and finally talked to her and she said that she’ll send me the mailing label right away. She sent me the label the next day and I immediately mailed the iron back. So you would think that they’ll say something once they receive my stuff – hey curling iron owner, we got your defective iron and you’re right, it’s defective and we will replace it! But of course they are living up the standards of customer service and said nothing even after few days of receipt. I was tracking my parcel online that’s why I knew that they had it. All I want is for them to tell me what the next step is and for me to know if I’ll have my curling iron replacement by the time I’ll need it. I have a wedding to go to and I need that iron. Anyhoo, so a week after seeing that they had the parcel I called them again and asked if they actually have it and what is the waiting time for my parcel to be sent out. The lady kinda yelled at me and in a very irritated manner she said “I can’t work if you’ll keep calling me” – I was stunned! What a great customer service! So with conviction I said to her “I understand you’re busy, but I am a customer and I would appreciate talking to me politely since I am talking to you politely. All I want is to know when will I get my replacement. You never replied to my emails. You never acknowledged the receipt of my parcel. You never called me back to update me with what’s going on. I atleast deserve to have a timeline on when I am going to get my replacement.” I mean I feel bad if I was a pain but that’s no way to treat customers. My communication wasn’t excessive. I just want an update since to begin with its almost like it wasn’t a concern to her. Enough of my rant, she said that my curling iron is on its way, but to date, I still don’t have it. And this is us talking more than two weeks ago! Lol! I just learned how to laugh at it. Like I said, she is probably the only one working in that department.
So having said everything above (a whole lotta blahs), I made up my mind. I said to myself, I will just purchase from flatironexperts since they have a year warranty and they have the best customer service! I called and asked how their warranty works and the lady said they do the one year but in total babyliss has two so the remaining year would be with dannyco but hopefully I don’t have to go that road again.
