So I gave in to ipsy’s monthly surprise and my very first ipsy bag did not disappoint me. Ipsy is a monthly subscription box founded by Michelle Phan. The company sends their subscribers full/sample sized beauty products for only $10/month which is so worth it compared to buying one item in the drug/department store just to try out and end up not liking. Like other monthly subscription boxes, you will get quizzed at the beginning and from there, ipsy will determine the items they will send you. This is how the bag looks like as well as the samples I got:
This Be A Bombshell The One Stick in Sunset is a eye, lip and cheek stick. Retails for $16.00, the shade Sunset is perfect for my skin tone, really easy to blend and is very flattering. If you missed the December glam bag, you can get the Be A Bombshell The One Stick on their website.
This J.Cat Beauty Big Lip Pencil in Caramel Mocha is my favorite out of the bunch! To me this is the perfect coral-peach-nude lipstick and it makes my teeth look whiter too. Retails for $3.99, you can get it at J.Cat Beauty – a must-try!
So glad I didn’t get the trio with gray/silver/charcoal shade since I am not fond of those colors. This is the first time I am trying the Pop Beauty make up line and I would say that it is an okay brand, in terms of the eye shadows I got of course. It is a little chalky in my opinion and I had quite a bit of fallouts, not a ton but just a little bit. Not overly happy with this trio but not disappointed as well. I would say that this product is about $7.00 since I couldn’t find any trios in their website, but click here for an alternate eye make up palette.
This Nicka K New York nail polish in Red Hot is a classy shade. It has just enough deepness of red and just the perfect brightness. The nail polish itself is glossy without a top coat, I tried using this without a base color and of course it stained my nails but it wasn’t too bad. The stain was gone after a day and my nails didn’t turn yellow. For $4.99, I will definitely repurchase!
This Mirabella Eye Blender Brush does its job. It works very well in blending harsh crease lines as well as diffuses the eye shadow evenly. For $27, I think it is on the pricey side, but not – the quality of the brush itself is very soft, the bristles have just the right density and the handle is really sleek. It has a good weight to it and the overall look of this tool fits anybody’s make up collection! Their Signature Brush Set looks very tempting too!
Overall I love my first ipsy Glam Bag and I am looking forward for more! The items I got, I would say are about $60 if you will buy them individually. So excited to try a few more products and for just $10/month, you really cannot beat that!
