The last Ipsy bag for this year has arrived!
I was expecting a more festive type of packaging from Ipsy since it is the holidays and it is the last bag of the year but the glam bag is a little too simple for me.
The smell of fall, the leaves on the ground… Oh it’s here, fall is here! New season calls for a little bit of a shift on a certain look. I am nowadays wearing some fall inspired eye looks using the Lorac Skinny Palette in nude. First time trying the Etude House BB Cream and it is amazing. The look that the BB Cream gives is just absolutely smooth and fresh, not to mention, I am in love with the scent! Most products used are from drugstore (or from a drugstore price point). This is my first time doing this type of post so hopefully I’ll improve once I do more similar posts.
Rebecca Minkoff! Woohoo!
Okay, so this month, Rebecca Minkoff designed the glam bag for ipsy and it is really cute! Whats inside?
A good mascara that stays all day. The formula is a little dry but nothing too overly dry or anything like that. I just find that it’s so hard to remove but of course with a use of a good make up remover you will eventually clean everything out. Be careful to not pull out your lashes though. But yeah, it is a good mascara, it stays all day, the wand is great, just perfect for my sparse, thin and short lashes. It gives me the natural volume and curl as well. It doesn’t clump my lashes and it is something I would repurchase. Retails for $15 for a full sized tube on their website.
Smells really fresh and tropical. Not a fan of hair sprays but this one is not bad. I used this on damp hair, brushed through, tossed and styled my hair and I got the messy, summery look that is really effortless and beachy. The full size bottle is about $8.99 (4.2 fl oz) at Ulta. So I guess for this sample size, it is about $3.25.
I love love love this product and I am not even a lip gloss person! The shade is perfect, the consistency is great and the lasting power is better than other average / drug store lip glosses. I am really happy with this NYX Butter Gloss. Now, I am ready to try the lipsticks from this line. I own a lipstick from NYX before and it was nearly 3 years ago I guess when I purchased it, I don’t really remember the line and the shade but my mom liked it too. The Butter Glosses sell for $5.00 on NYX’s website.
This universal eyebrow pencil is so easy to use. So smooth and it looks really natural. I can now understand why this is called a universal eyebrow pencil since you can draw as light of an eyebrow or build it up for a sharper and stronger eyebrow look. For only $13.00 you can get a very versatile and it stays on the whole day. Definitely on my repurchase list!
This is very unexpected. First time I received a scent sample in my ipsy bag and it wasn’t bad. I am more in the line of Clinique Happy and Happy Heart, Burberry Brit Sheer and lightweight scents such as D&G light blue and fruity fresh like Juicy Couture and Escada but this RealTree is something new to me and I have no scent that’s similar. Something I will definitely use. Full size is $24.99 and on sale for $19.99 on their website.
My June 2014 Glam Bag is definitely a hit! Love everything in it and will surely use all of them! The bag is worth around $36.00 without the perfume sample so it is definitely worth it. Join Ipsy and get your monthly surprise for only $10.00 a month!
My March Ipsy glam bag came in about more than a week ago and I have been playing with it. Though there are only four items inside, usually five, I still like what I have nonetheless. The website says the bag is worth $30.
First, the Pixi Beauty Flawless Primer – claims to have anti aging and skin fortifying benefits and suitable to all skin types. I has a dewy finish and definitely shows a subtle glow. I tried this on my eye lid though, I know it says “face” primer not eye primer but I tried it anyway and yeah, it didn’t work, my shadow creased. But on my face it is gorgeous! It feels really soft and I love love love the very subtle dewy look – great for spring and summer! <3
Then here is the Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner – my least favourite in my Glam Bag but, it is not too bad. I will still use this baby. The colour is vibrant, I love how it glides and the felt tip is really precise. You do have to wait a bit until it settles and it claims to be water resistant and smudge proof.
I just wrote about NYX Cosmetics on my previous blog and I really wanted to try most of their products. So when I saw this trio in my Glam Bag, I got really excited! I got the NYX Lov in Rio palette in Sagrados de Giselle and this is so me! Love how the colours are really creamy and of course, the neutrals are to die for! Great for everyday 🙂
My first time ever to try a Bare Minerals product and I am impressed! So far, I am loving how the Marvelous Moxie glides on my lips smoothly, not to mention it keeps it hydrated. The colour I got is Get Ready and it is a warm rosy pink. The photos don’t give justice but I am telling you, it is definitely wearable and I would like to think that this shade is flattering on almost all skin tones.
I would be extra happy if I got the Nicole by OPI in Roughles (ruffles) since it will be my first textured nail polished but oh well, maybe next time. I enjoyed my bag in general and I will definitely use all the products I have!
To subscribe to Ipsy, click here. $10/month isn’t bad for samples , at least you are getting the products and trying them before you actually commit on the brand and buy 🙂
You might have seen this brand from your favourite drug or other stores but have you tried their line yet? NYX is one of the first products I have when I was starting out with make ups. Their single eye shadows in particular as well as the Jumbo Eye Pencils are a few of my favourites. Now that their selections are growing, I can say that I haven’t been reaching out for this brand anymore than I have before. Well, one reason is as I am getting used to more make up looks, I have been purchasing the mid range brands to try other lines as well but then again as I have been browsing online as well as when I have revisited my collection, I again fell in love with this brand – NYX. Few things I want to try are:
These to me are exactly what the name says – GLAM! The shimmers and the bling will definitely be a great night our or special event type of eye make up to pull off so I am excited to try!
Like I said earlier, the Jumbo Eye Pencils are my fave! Specifically the shade “Milk,” been through maybe three pencils now. Love using this as my base colour. It also helps a lot whenever I like to intensify the colours of my shadows since this shade brings out the true colour to an eye shadow. I cannot say how happy I am with the consistency of this as well as the application and formula. It is creaseless and it lasts me more than eight hours daily – yes, I use this almost every single day! Really excited to try out different Jumbo Eye Pencil colours.
This Butt Naked – Turn The Other Cheek Palette to me will be a make or break. I have been using Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and the Stila In The Light as my go to everyday palette but both only carry eye shadows. This particular Nyx palette has blush / bronzer / highlighter so to me if this one will work for me, I am totally switching to this new prospective favourite! It looks so compact and easy to use so yeah, one more reason to be excited!
Of course, a staple would either be a matte palette or matte eye shadow singles. The wide colour selection of Nyx’s Nude Matte Shadow will draw you in. From the browns, taupes, olives, etc – I have been repeating to myself, these are my colours! Nyx is totally talking to me when they were making this line! Just looking at these eye shadows makes me giggle 🙂
Now I do not know how to start but the lip products are so attractive! If I would have to pick a NYX lip product, I most probably will be in the store for hours! I will just enumerate all the lip products I am excited to try on and hopefully I will get my hands on them very soon! I have been hearing a lot of good things about the Soft Matte Lip Cream. I personally own a few Mega Shine Lip Glosses and I love them especially the nudes/pale glosses. A lot of great feed backs about the Butter Lipsticks, Butter Lip Balms and Butter Glosses.
The Black Label Lipsticks I haven’t tried at all and this is something I just saw when I went to the NYX website and they are all SOLD OUT at the moment but it is definitely worth trying. Hopefully these are in my local drugstore 🙂
As excited as I am, I probably wouldn’t be able to get my hands on these babies just yet since I am now out in the middle of nowhere but in about two weeks, the NYX adventure will start!
Share me your thoughts about the new NYX products – love them? Hate them? Any recommendations? I’d love to hear from you!
