Finally got my hands on The Balm Cosmetics and I have a few awesome items to share with you. I got these stuff in January and I was so excited! So for about two months of using these products, I am more confident in reviewing each by now. Also, I was MIA for a good few weeks. I got so busy with life (and work). I will go on a (quick) trip again soon so hopefully I am able to share with you how the trip’s like. Anyway, back to the exciting haul/review:
I have quite a bit of nude palettes since I am a neutral type of gal. This palette is really pigmented and buttery. I love how the shadows apply smoothly and very easy to blend. This is something that is very easy to work with especially if you are starting out with make up. I highly recommend this palette! Sells for USD$38.00.
On occasions that my eyelids are very oily, I have to use a primer. I can do away with not using a primer on a daily basis but when I want my eye make up to last longer, I definitely use a primer. This sells for USD$18.00 and I think it is a bit pricey but it performs beautifully. I love how my eye shadow doesn’t move and definitely does not crease. However, I am fine using a more affordable eye shadow primer from ELF for only USD$2.00.
Using liquid eyeliner is new to me since I am a gel liner fan. I would occasionally use pencil liners to tight line but on my lids it is usually gel. When I used the liquid liner, it kinda felt like it is not black enough – again coming from a girl who always uses gel, this isn’t cutting it for me. I had to go back a few times to get the blackest shade I can get. But, this is not a bad product altogether. I like that thought it is not as pigmented as I want this liquid liner to be, the felt tip applicator is very precise that I can get a very defined and skinny line towards the inner part of my lids. I have great control when I am winging out my liner using this applicator. Schwing sells for USD$17.00.
I have both Mia Moore (red) and Mai Billsbepaid (nude). Love how these lippies feel and how easy they apply. Easy enough that I can wear either of them on the go without using any lip liner. The nude does not accentuate the crevices on my lips due to dryness. Both lipsticks are very moisturizing and wearable. Sells for USD$17.00.
Just a tiny bit goes a long way. I like applying this face primer on my nose, between my brows and the front part of my cheeks. I use this on days when I want my make up to last. My go to primer is the Benefit Porefessional and I can say that this Time Balm is something that will do the job in the absence of my go to primer. Sells for USD$30.00.
Very similar to NARS Orgasm though still different (if that makes any sense). Not sure how to describe the coral-golden shimmer (not glitter) and the prettiness! Love how this blush makes my skin looks so fresh and youthful. Very wearable and especially now that spring is here, this is definitely something that is worth purchasing! Sells for USD$20.00.
Another face product that I love is this Bahama Mama Bronzer. It doesn’t have that orange look and since it is cool toned, I love how it looks on subtle and more blended contours. Perfect for adding life to your face as well as chiseling the hollows of your cheeks. Sells for USD$20.00.
A very pretty shimmery peachy pink and golden glow goodness! You can use this as a highlighter, a shadow and as a shimmer according to the website. I love how this makes my face looks so refreshed but you have to be careful on how you apply this as it is very intense and you could be a disco ball when over done. Sells for USD$24.00.
The website says that this product is a honey-hued luminizer. I love using this as a highlighter in general. Best for inner corners, tops of my cheek bones and cupid’s bow. Love how great my skin looks when I use this. It flatters all skin colours and it is very pigmented so light hand is necessary for application – a little bit goes a long way. Sells for USD$24.00.
On the website it says that this product is a “bronzing highlighter, shimmer and shadow.” I used it a few times as an all over lid colour and it is very pretty. I have also used it as a shimmery type of bronzer and my skin looked sun kissed with a glow! Again, since this product is so pigmented, light hand when applying is necessary and another trick that I have been doing recently is actually use a matte bronzer and add a little bit of Betty-Lou on top and I love how it looks on my skin. It adds just enough glow and my skin looks healthy and I feel that by looking at the colour of my face, summer’s just around the corner! Sells for USD$24.00.
